Here's a look at my new resume =D

Okay I'm sorry I haven't had time to comment on your work. It seems I've been running out of time with things and I know this is already due but I've been getting help from a friend of mine who pointed a few things out about my resume. First you should really change your font because I used your work as an example of what we're asked for in class and she gasped with a face of horror with the font Papyrus. Papyrus is kind of like the lens flare of fonts. It's a major no no and I just want you to know because any basic designer would take one look at it and think you don't know even the basics of design.

Another pointer is that some of the format we are using for our resume are big no nos of typical resumes. For a better understanding of a resume I was told to visit career services and ask for their hand out. I'm basically making a separate resume for the purposes of sending it out and posting it on my site after I'm done. I'm just suggesting all this because your work is amazing and I don't want to see you be hindered by just not knowing or the incompetence of our professor in a lot of ways.

I hope this helps for the future but in terms of what he's looking for this works just fine.

Thanks a bunch for the feedback. It's too late to change things for the assignment since it was due on Tuesday. Lol, I used Papyrus because Kovacs picked it out. He said it looked nice with my rough lines. I figured the font was cliche but if it makes him happy then its great. Plus studios aren't going to not hire me because of my choice of font. XD The format I used also directly follows his guide that he gave us. It's very similar to the AM format as well. The only big difference is he wants us to have that paragraph of an objective whereas AM simply asks for one sentence. I've never had any problems with my AM formatted resume, so I figured it must be alright. I'm going to get rid of that paragraph though when I send it to places and replace it with an actual objective. XD

Oh your welcome. You can actually make changes before the final turn in which he actually expects after he does the first round of grading. Actually any design based person who knows anything about graphics is going to look down on your use of Papyrus script just so you know. It really doesn't surprise me that the professor would pick that font since as I've discovered he knows absolutely nothing about how to market us to be honest. He doesn't even have a good grasp on the basics. Even though font isn't a huge concern for us papyrus in particular is usually highly frowned upon. I would suggest changing that and I think it's good to delete the paragraph. I'm going to do the same. :P

I did look at your resume off your website and that is more standard. It's just that the a lot of what the paragraph says is why we use a cover letter or part of it. Your resume off your site is closer to what you should do but add accomplishments and reference and there you go!

Most of this was just FYI anyway. I wasn't sure if you knew or not. Best of luck to you! I know I'm sure going to be happy when I can get out of this class and stop listening to his horrible advice. Hope to see you around!

Thanks! Yeah, Kovacs said to put that on there since you needed a portfolio review to get in.

Can't help it. So very jealous. I'll work hard to catch up though. I am finishing my first animated short in the coming weeks. We haven't learned much about the actual art of animation yet, (my teacher is much more interested in lighting, textures and particle emitters) but I've looked around and that's a common complaint from most schools that aren't art schools. So, I have been doing my own research with reference footage of myself until I can start animation mentor.
