Here's a reel with the majority of the work I did on Ice Age 4. I'm responsible for all of the animation except for the shot with all of the pirates going "aaarrrrrggggggg!" and the shot where Gut watches the hyraxes flying off into the distance. In the "aaaarrrggggggg" shot, I animated Shira, Boris (the warthog), and Gupta(the badger). In the Gut shot, I animated the hyraxes flying out into space.

This animation is as cool as the Ice Age itself! This reel demonstrates not only an incredible understanding of 3D animation techniques, but also the composition, framing, and detail of each piece. Seeing what a single artist contributes to such an incredible piece is truly amazing.

A lot of good art can go into a colossal piece of shit.

ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I agree. Most movies out there are varying degrees of bad, but that doesn't mean that your work has to be.

This is my favorite part of these movies. Seeing the behind the scenes. I really hope one day to be a part of it :) Thank you for sharing this with us!

You're welcome! I wish more animated films had behind the scenes content on their dvds. That and when they do, I wish it was less about the voice actors and more about the craft itself. The animators commentary on The Incredibles is still my favorite behind the scenes content thus far!

Oh yeah that one is a good one! I also like the behind the scenes on Brave too. I really dislike Rapunzel's. It was just not enough really.  I am currently going to school for animation, hope you don't mind if I ask a few questions? I was curious have you worked with small companies too? or is it just big companies like Dreamworks and Disney and Pixar that you work with? I'm hoping you have an opinion on big companies VS smaller companies. Also, like most art students I worry about my future in finding a job and sometimes I read bad things about SCAD and since I don't have a back up school I sure hope this school gets me where I wanna go lol.

Wait this is work you did on the real movie? I thought for a moment you were either just uploading behind the scene clips or somebody practicing CGI that is awesome I wouldn't think somebody who worked on a movie would be on DA...
